The Tao Te Ching
The "Tao Te Ching" by Lao Tzu is an ancient Chinese philosophical manuscript that has greatly influenced Chinese culture since at least the 6th century BCE. Bound as a set of related poems separated by chapters the Tao is in essence a guide on living in a changing world. Surprisingly it is still very relevant to today and heavily infuenced the East meets West new age philosophies of the last 60+ years.
Tao, means 'the way'
Te, means virtue
Ching means book
Tao Te Ching means The book of the way of virtue. This is the most common agreeable translation, however as with all translations and especially from ancient Chinese to modern English there are many different interpretations.
This excellent collection of wisdom from ages past can connect us to ourselves and humanity as we see that we are all human and all dealing with the same stuff. Most definitely recommend finding a copy and giving it a read. There are entire schools based off this book so if you made it here than you should be able to find some really great resources online if interested in getting deeper into this little book.
